Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Skye Bank Plc, Mr. Akinsola Akinfemiwa, has been conferred with the University of Nigeria (UNN) Alumni Association’s “Life time Achievement Award” in recognition of his numerous contributions to the growth of the institution and educational development in Nigeria.

Akinfemiwa graduated from UNN with second class upper division degree in Agricultural Economics in 1976.

A statement issued by the bank said the well deserved award was to recognize and honour him for identifying with both the school and the alumni association in their quest to make teaching and learning more effective by lending a helping hand.

His passion for education is unparalled and has consistently championed this. Under his leadership, Skye Bank  which has as one its core values, education and youth development, has supported many institutions at various levels for development.

The bank has also been active in the sponsorship of various educational activities among secondary schools across the nation, some of which are secondary school debates, Skye High football competition, the famous radio motivational talk targeted at the youth for mentoring and entrepreneurship and the recent partnership with the British Council called Management Express, which is a capacity building programme for young entrepreneurs and managers.
