Our Skye Global Account is an all-in-one account that is perfect for Nigerians living abroad, wishing to maintain investments and savings in Nigeria.. It has the features of savings and current account as well as optional facilities for deposit placement. With this account, you will enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing you no longer have to worry about the safety of your financial transactions in Nigeria.

It differs from a Regular Domiciliary Account in that it is targeted towards transactions and investments exclusively within Nigeria, while customers can monitor their account activities and issue instructions from anywhere in the world.

As a Skye Global account holder, an account manager will be assigned to you to handle all transactions on your account and resolve any queries that you may have.
 

 

 
 

Features of Skye Global

  • Creation of 2 accounts (A Naira account and a foreign currency denominated account)

Account Operation on Skye Global

Once the account is opened, it will be created on our Internet Banking platform to enable account details to be viewed. The Internet banking platform will have a messaging service (Bankmail) that would allow the customer to send and receive messages within the bank’s secured online banking environment.

A password shall be put in place for each customer to serve as a check on third parties gaining access to the online messaging platform.

The messaging services could be used to make general account or other enquiries, or request transaction services from the bank.
Any instruction to the bank through the messaging services shall be obliged and treated as appropriate in accordance with the mandate on the customers account

Third Party Payments

  • Customer sends instruction through Bankmail platform. This must be communicated to the beneficiary by the customer, and presented by the beneficiary to the bank official.
  • The instruction will include the following: Name of beneficiary, Amount, beneficiary’s ID type, beneficiary’s contact number.
  • Beneficiary goes to the Skye bank branch specified and presents his/her ID card and Keyword.
  • Information supplied by beneficiary is verified and once found correct he/she is paid according to customer’s instruction.

Direct Account Operation

The account can also be operated in person via ATM Card and Chequebook, whenever the customer visits Nigeria. These will be issued only at the customers’ request, through his/her bankmail. Issuance of chequebooks will require presentation of two suitable references from qualified Nigerian referees.

The customer shall also be at liberty to operate the account through a duly signed written instruction.

Charges on Skye Global

While no COT or maintenance fees are charged on the account, minimum charges exist for some transactions:

  • InterBank transfers: N2000 plus .01% of the amount being transferred
  • ATM cards are issued at no cost, however a nominal monthly ATM card fee of N100 applies.
  • Foreign currency Payouts/withdrawals: 1% of the amount being withdrawn
  • Draft issuance: N367.50 per draft issued
  • Naira withdrawals/payouts, transfers to other Skye Bank accounts are at no charge
  • Fund conversion from foreign currency to Naira at the prevailing money market rate is fre.

How to open The Skye Global Account

Follow these two steps;

  • Download the account opening form
  • Take the completed form, other required documents (and the originals for verification purposes) to any Skye Bank agent.
